Danang
Vietnam has an enviable coastline that stretches for miles, dotted with some of the most beautiful resorts in the region, but none quite as captivating as the InterContinental Da Nang. Cloistered by the pristine natural elements of the Sun Peninsula some 30 mins away from the city, this Bensley designed retreat is a world unto itself, a masterful amalgamate of serene accents and dramatic styles, accentuated by a forceful melange of robust colours and forms set against an architectural frame of classical black and white. A bold statement of design gumption that extenuates what is culturally Vietnamese yet essentially modern, the InterContinental Da Nang is a joy to inhabit with the sensibilities of a temporal heaven etched deep into its design and hospitality DNA.
While at InterContinental Da Nang,
why don't you ...

InterContinental Da Nang's 200 rooms, suites and villas are intertwined over 4 sections traversing a private bay in central Vietnam. Largely raised over a steep verdant hill, the views afforded by the higher sections (sky and heaven) are truly spectacular.

Families used to space and privacy might consider checking into the resort's secluded 3-bedroom Bai Bac Bay villa bedecked with 3 swimming pools or its newly minted 4 bedroom villa that has the resort's comeliest interiors. For couples craving intimacy look no further than the plush penthouses that come with private pool, oversized bathtub, private pantry and stunning views at every turn.

Wellness is serious business here readily dispensed via the resort's cuticle care temple Bastien Gonzalez and Mi Sol Spa, a luxurious retreat raised over primordial wilderness proffering massages and treatments that tap on the healing benefits of sounds and vibrations.

The resort operates 5 restaurants and bars ranging from serious French epicurean at Maison 1888 to casual Vietnamese dining and buffets at Citron. Our favourite is Barefoot, a grill and seafood beach club that takes the classical approach to rendering a steak exactly as a steak and a dessert a sublime end to a meal, also known as the best Baked Alaska we've had in a while. The newly launched Continental Club Lounge is a stunning space replete with whimsical Egyptian columns, high arched windows and spirited furnishings. Probably one of the best club lounges in the region, this is definitely a perk worth opting for.
