     Bangkok

Capella's Bangkok installation is quite the ornate dollhouse set right next to the Chao Phraya, and one that will rattle some of the city's other highly regarded riverside palaces, quite like how beautiful young starlets tend to unnerve the older dames. Fans of the brand won't be too unfamiliar with the property's classical interiors, contemporary furnishings and lush oriental references. The overriding palette of tan, ochre, brown and beiges may be comforting to some but somewhat olden to others, nonetheless the service within is impeccably imperial and royally unmatched. And that is quite a coup for yet another esteemable establishment planted right beside Thailand's fabled river of kings.

While at Capella Bangkok,
why don't you ...

  • Dine at Cote by Mauro Colagreco, one of the city's most exciting new fine dining restaurants with menus that are never set in stone.

  • Make a booking for pampering me-time at Auriga Spa, and indulge in the hydro facilities and well-delivered massage treatments.

  • Savour the flavours of Thailand without ever leaving the hotel at Phra Nakhon, the city's newest fine-dining Thai restaurant. The menu is extensive and the flavours are authentically intact. Do not skip breakfast here as well for this riverside gem delivers fabulous morning spreads via one of the city's best service teams.

  • Play house within one of the property's nine riverside villas with gardens that lead right to the river's edge, probably the only hotel to offer such accommodations within the city. There are also two amply-sized verandah suites that come with private patio and jacuzzi, although they are not hidden from prying eyes from above.
